Seven of our top Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls shared their hopes and dreams, and also gave an insight in their intensive training regimes, at an open session held at Newham Leisure Centre in London’s East.
Training just a stone’s throw from Olympic Park, the promising young athletes are all part of the Lloyds TSB Local Heroes programme; an initiative designed to provide Britain’s brightest up and coming young athletes with financial support and mentoring, to help give them the best chance possible to fulfil their potential – both this summer and beyond.
By the London 2012 Games, the programme will have supported 1,000 athletes with grants to help cover their training, travel and education costs. For more information visit www.lloydstsblondon2012.co.uk
