New research released today reveals that holidaying Brits are putting their health at risk when falling ill abroad, by buying inappropriate medication to treat their condition.
69% of Brits say they have bought medication or healthcare products abroad - the most common being treatments for upset stomachs, vomiting and diarrhoea; motion sickness tablets; cold and flu remedies; and treatments for sunburn and insect bites. Yet the research indicates that many could be putting their own health at risk, as well as that of family members, as they are not receiving correct professional advice when abroad, or are unaware of the side effects of the medication they are purchasing.
