Social Media Unified On Xbox 360 As The Future Of Pop Is Unified On Stage

Paloma Faith & Taio Cruz collaborate for one night only to celebrate the arrival of Facebook, Twitter, last.fm and Zune on Xbox 360

LONDON – November 16, 2009: From 17th November 2009 Xbox 360 invites Xbox LIVE members to join the biggest social network on TV as Facebook, Twitter, last.fm and Zune join forces on a games console for the first time ever.

To celebrate this unique first Facebook, Twitter, last.fm and Zune will be exclusively previewed at a central London event on 16th November 2009. Just as Xbox is unifying social media on Xbox 360, for one night only two musical genres will be unified in a world-first collaboration with Brit Award winning and MOBO nominated singer-songwriter Taio Cruz joining forces with current darling of the music industry, songbird Paloma Faith.

Both will perform a hit song from their own albums before joining forces on stage to cover a secret collaborative track. Guests will be treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes film, documenting a secret meeting between Taio and Paloma that will see them discussing their musical influences and heroes, debating what song to cover and putting their show-stopping voices through their paces. Following the event, the film will be available to view through Xbox social media channels.

The event itself will uniquely bring to life the new social prowess of Xbox 360. A live Twitter wall, controlled by a bank of Xbox 360 consoles, will showcase music requests to inspire the last.fm DJs on the night, while party goers can update a unique Facebook page, evolving in real time with photo and status updates.

Neil Thompson, Senior Director of Entertainment Division UK & Ireland and Head of Xbox comments; “It’s the community that drives us forward, and it’s the community that allows us to pioneer new ways of connecting people through the entertainment they love. Tonight we’re celebrating the transformation of the TV as tomorrow everyone will be able to enjoy some truly exciting interactive entertainment experiences which continues to deliver on our vision of connected entertainment for everyone.”

Ryan Regan, CFO and Head of Digital, for Last.fm comments, “The Last.fm and Xbox Live partnership firmly catapults the Xbox 360 into the centre of the social music revolution. With the ability to discover music and explore endless personalised stations, music fans can turn their game console into the ultimate living room entertainment centrepiece.
